I Won The Contest!

Last month, Tech Jaws came up with an idea for a contest. A contest that would increase the amount of subscribers to his feed, encourage comments and give the winner a whopping 300X250 widget of ad space on his blog. Well guess what, (drum roll please…) I WON!!

WHOO HOO!

On behalf of my mother, my father, etc. You know the drill. It’s my version of an Academy Awards acceptance speech, thank you very much.

Let me tell you how I first became acquainted with Tech Jaws.

Upon a member of Entrecard, you have an opportunity to visit lots of blogs and websites. Many of these blogs are under represented. By that I mean they offer lots of quality information that can aid in the improvement of your blog in a variety of ways.

For instance, with Tech Jaws he offers technical, programming advice geared toward WordPress style bloggers. I don’t have a WordPress blog, however, Tech Jaws still faces the same issues as any other blogger has, encouraging readers to comment, while increasing subscribers. In that case, some of his posts reflect his experience in his quest to improve those two categories.

Since I needed help in that category, and I had similar experience with it when I had my own newsletter, I realized the importance of having my own domain. (I don’t have it yet, but I will soon.)

These were small changes that I could effect, that would increase my presence in Google, as well as give me more creative control over the look and feel of my blog.

The point I’m making, that by card dropping through Entrecard, I have met bloggers like Tech Jaws (Nathan) and Dot Sauce who are not only helpful but highly skilled and knowledgable in what they do. It just makes good sense, good business sense as well to align with these guys who know what they are doing.

Knock Knock Who’s There? Tech Jaws With Another Contest!

Tech Jaws just knocked on my virtual door to tell me was running yet another contest for ad space. He caught my attention because he is not giving away some miniscule widget for ad space, but a nice sized, eye grabbing 300 X 250 rotating ad that has a 33% chance of being seen.

Ok, I’m in.
