WRITING AWARD WINNING SALES LETTERS

Grabbing your buyers’ attention is your goal. You have an awesome product and want to get the message out to everyone! The problem is you are on a highway shared with many of the same products. There’s a traffic jam of products out there and you’re right in the mix. Your great idea looks just like the next guys’ wonderful revelation. You’re at the party with the same dress on!

Your ads can give your products the uniqueness they deserve. If you are marketing satellite dishes, then your message can’t be the same as your competitors. Everybody has a satellite dish, so what makes your offer better than his? Why should I buy from you and not the next marketer? Your ad might offer a costs savings, or free installation. If a buyer is going to give you their hard earned money, they want something extra to go with those fries. I believe in giving something extra with any purchase. It’s just good customer service. Always exceed their expectations.

Your job is to sell the same product but with a different spin. Describe your product in terms of these three needs:

The three most important elements of an ad sent by email are: (1) an attention-getting headline, (2) a specific offer and (3) a call to action. If you have mastered the art of writing a compelling ad, you know almost everything you need to know to get response by email.
Just remember that people’s attention spans are significantly shorter when they read at their computers. And keep in mind that folks have less tolerance for receiving sales letters from strangers by email compared to postal mail. Your ad should tell the buyer what to do; you want to have a definite call to action in there. Your ad should create an emotional desire to buy your product. Keep in mind that buying is emotional and therefore, your buyers will have to feel a need is being satisfied when they buy your product. If your E-Book collection has outdated techniques, then it may be time to update your resources. Your buyers will have moved on. More advanced and proven methods will overshadow the information you are trying to market. Your buyer wants to stay on top of the latest trends and techniques. They want to feel like they are getting an Escalade for the price of a Chevy. Treat them like that. Have your ad reach out to their need to improve their lives. Increase their income, or make something in their life much easier.

The things your product can do for your buyers should jump off the page at your buyers. Writing exciting, active ad copy will insure you sales, profits and long term stability in internet marketing. Use a headline like this, “Will 2008 be the year you get serious about your internet business?” This headline not only catches your readers attention, it emotionally stirs them; causing them to think and possibly doubt their commitment to their business. All these thought processes cause the buyer to develop a curiosity for the product you are selling. Your ads should make the buyer want to buy it now! Using these key words will start you on your way to successful ads and sales letters. When using these words of action try to incorporate your product around them. It is a surefire way to keep your buyers’ attention.
